Project summary

The aim of the current project financed in the framework of the Action Plan, is to provide State Border Guard Service (SBGS) of Ukraine with new modern electronic personal dosimeters and with a new modern special purpose vehicle for radiation monitoring and post-detection activities for use in the northern border area, in proximity to the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

Main results

The anticipated result of supplying modern electronic personal dosimeters and a new modern special purpose vehicle for radiation monitoring and post-detection activities is enhancing monitoring, mitigation, personnel dosimetry capabilities at SBGS to help prevent and manage the RN events, illicit trafficking of nuclear and radiological material through the vulnerable northern border of Ukraine, in proximity to the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, and in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
